Class Note 1969. We continue to seek classmates who have been out of touch. Does your fraternity or Dartmouth circle have a Zoom or an email group? The brothers of Alpha Chi Alpha are meeting online and emailing, and stalwarts are staying in closer touch. George Cooke, Bamboo Gandy, John Duke, Don Lofty, Andy Meyers, Clark Doran, Jack Bauer, Bruce Hamilton, Bill Yellowtail, John Briganti, and Tex Talmadge are on that list.
Dave Boyle and Tom Cronan gather annually for a mini-reunion with classmates including Tom Parks, Dimitri Gerakaris, Tupper Kinder, Gary Day, Gary Goodenough, Mark Schleicher, Jim Treadway, Scott McGinnes, Dan Cooperman, and Tom Weldy. Cronan says that “Parksie’s Place” is the ideal spot for great fellowship.
Classmates in our “Baker Bunch Alcoholics Anonymous” group have met on Zoom every Sunday night for several years. The group was started at reunions, meeting at 5 p.m. daily on reunion days in Baker Library. The group is by tradition anonymous and open to all recovering classmates. Contact Tex for details.
Nanalee Raphael, Peter Schenck, Jim O’Connell, Carol Dudley, Jon Mark, Allen Denison, David Abbott, John Meyers, Bob Garman, and others have joined Arthur Fergenson for Zoom play readings, which have become a class of 1969 tradition. Arthur also chairs our now legendary “Casual Conversations,” with schedule and details on the website. Come meet famous people!
Webmaster Peter Elias writes, “Our website (dartmouth69.org) has lots to offer: regular posts about both in-person and virtual activities, links to The ’69 Times, links to thousands of photos of classmates and activities, links to the Dartmouth College Fund honor roll, our ‘In Memoriam’ section, information about class philanthropy and the DOC House renovation, a list of classmate blogs, and features such as class experiences in Vietnam and World War II stories, which Allen Denison skillfully curates also in The ’69 Times newsletter.”
