Class Note 2019

Issue

March - April 2026

Class Note 2019. Salut from Washington, D.C.! At the end of 2025 Annaka Balch and I were honored (and relieved!) to pass a rigorous exam and earn our certifications as level-one sommeliers. In our studies we learned about wine myths, pairings, and tasting strategies. We are now available for wine consultations and recommendations!
For this edition of Class Notes, I asked classmates to share the hobbies that have been bringing them joy recently. Claire Rafson is playing tennis and doing pottery. Sally Sandoval recently got a laminator and is enjoying laminating things! Brandon Holmes is participating in Revolutionary War reenactments and fencing. Ivan Cornish Morales is competing in Hyrox. Margaret Jones is exploring different all-you-can-eat sushi brunches in D.C.—I will be joining her in this pursuit.
On the professional achievement front, Allyssa Dobkins shared that Scott Lloyd was named to the Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list in marketing and advertising for his work at Skims. Very cool!
Kia (Amirkiaee) Young shared that she attended a Dartmouth alumni central coast meetup in California, where she saw several ’19s, including Sarah Egar, Clara Chin, and Jarley Lopez. I was in New York for work in December and enjoyed an amazing dinner at San Marzano with Regan Gore, Jayson Chojar, Margot Putnam, Katie Dishner, Emanuela Tsesarsky ’20, Charlie Blatt ’18, and friend of the class Jack Greenberg.
Keep me posted on all of your hobbies, career achievements, and classmate meetups!
