Class Note 1993

Issue

March - April 2026

Class Note 1993. Sarah Salih joined New York Times “Opinion” columnist David Brooks on stage at the Massachusetts Conference for Women for a fireside chat inspired by Brooks’ new book, How to Know a Person. Their conversation explored a blueprint for connection: asking better questions, listening generously, and making attentiveness a daily practice.
Sara Olsen is working with a design team at the New York Federal Reserve Bank on a new initiative to align systemic incentives with social good. They recently hosted a “Fail Fest” in N.Y.C. to help leaders feel comfortable acknowledging the challenges in making “world-changing” work succeed. Since the proceedings were under Chatham House Rules, we won’t know exactly what happened, but it’s clear that Sara is setting the stage to help businesses find pathways to make “doing good” a business success.
During the government shutdown that affected air traffic controllers and airline travel during the fall, Seth Alpert was interviewed by NPR while waiting in Philadelphia for a flight back home to Columbus, Ohio. We’re happy to report that Seth made it safely home.
With the classes of ’91 and ’92, with whom we are sharing our next reunion (don’t worry, it’s not until June of 2027), we are continuing to host virtual “Reuniversity” events throughout the year. Members of our classes are speaking about topics of interest and highlighting their expertise and experiences in these compelling sessions. Please make sure that your email is up to date so that you can get the details. And if you’ve got a topic that you’d like to share, please let us know.
