Class Note 1962
Issue
March - April 2026
Class Note 1962. Around the girdled earth they roamed: Cheryl and Manuel Buchwald will spend two months in Paris from mid-February to mid-April, as they have for most years since 1985. Manuel writes: “As we all know, traveling at our age is highly dependent on our health. So far, so good. We’ve always stayed in the upper Marais. Cheryl has found a bookbinding studio, and I write while she is there.”
Cheryl and Craig Dorman took a month-long cruise from Cappadocia, Turkey, to Barcelona, Spain. Craig writes: “My new hips, new wife, new home, new dog keep me busy. Work progressed on our home in White Stone, Virginia. Familywise, all is well, and we wish the same to you. Visit please.” (He can be reached at cdalaska@gmail.com.)
Lisa and Alan Dynner reportJanuary in New York City celebrating Lisa’s birthday; June seaside for two weeks in Gloucester, Massachusetts; August in the Berkshires attending Boston Symphony Orchestra concerts in Tanglewood; October home in Boston celebrating Alan’s 85th with family, followed by his 60th law school reunion at Yale. “Unfortunately, my arthritic shoulder has forced me to give up tennis, bicycling, and the violin, but there’s still plenty of exciting and interesting things to keep me busy.”
Navy veterans Liz and Rog Usborne flew to Washington, D.C., on an “Honor Flight,” visiting monuments honoring veterans, a once-in-a-lifetime experience! About 800 well-wishers welcomed them home at the airport, including their son and daughter-in-law. Rog invited Arja and Alan Rapoport and family aboard the USS Midway in December for a Christmas party. Arja’s birthday will be celebrated in Las Vegas.
Colin Harley writes: “During the last 40 years I gained a tremendous amount of weight, two pounds every year, reaching 280 pounds. In October of 2024 I went on Mounjaro, a shot a week for 11 months as prescribed by Eli Lilly for Type 2 diabetes. I shed 80 pounds because my appetite shrank dramatically. I feel great and rising from a chair is so much easier!”
I regret to inform you of the deaths of Eric F. Mathies of Rancho Cucamonga, California, on August 23; and Brian H. Bramson of Bluffton, South Carolina, on November 27.
