Class Note 2011

Issue

November-December 2025

Class Note 2011. Our class, along with the classes of 2009, 2010, and 2020 and the Dartmouth LGBTQIA+ Alum Association (DGALA), reunited in Hanover from Friday, July 25, through Sunday, July 27. As of June 27, our class had a total of 387 registrations, which included 192 classmates listed as primary (“host”) attendees, 96 spouses and partners (some of whom included classmates), 94 children ages 0 through 12, and several parents and friends. It was a hot, humid, and rainy weekend that fell during a weekslong heatwave in New England.
Friday consisted of an informal social on Gold Coast lawn, President Sian Beilock’s Hanover Inn reception, and a “block party” for all four classes and DGALA on the Life Sciences Center lawn, catered by three or four food trucks. The Saturday program involved breakfast pastries from Lou’s, an “affiliated groups” brunch, lunch for all reunion attendees on the Life Sciences Center lawn, and a class dinner on the Blunt Alumni Center lawn catered by the Hanover Inn. The weekend wrapped up with an “on-your-own” Sunday breakfast at the Class of 1953 Commons, formerly known as Thayer Dining Hall. We loved seeing everyone at this “15th” reunion and look forward to returning to campus together in 2030 for our “20th” reunion.
Kathryn “Kate” Arion wrote in with a Dartmouth-heavy summer update. In June, Kate hiked the JAM (Mount Jefferson, Mount Adams, and Mount Madison) in the White Mountains with her father, Mitch Arion ’81, uncle Doug Arion ’79, Chip Bettencourt ’81, and Rick Massey ’85. In August, she visited Washington, D.C., her first time back since moving to Florida last summer. Kate walked the Capital Crescent Trail with Clara Knutson ’09, kayaked on the Potomac River with Gregg Serenbetz ’93, relaxed with Marissa Knodel ’09 at a pool party, and enjoyed a mini Women of Dartmouth dinner with Stephanie Han, Amanda Devine, and Meg Sommerfeld ’90. Kate writes that her invitation still stands for anyone who wants to visit the Tampa-Sarasota area!
As always, we welcome your updates and anything you want to write in about. Have a wonderful end to 2025 and happy new year!
