Class Note 2008
Issue
November-December 2025
Class Note 2008. Emi (Ito) and Nick Ortiz hosted a pong party at their home in Miami attended by several alumni in the area: Alex Mesa Wentzell, Ben Beisswenger ’09, Adlin Tuya ’07, David Phillibert ’05, and Bill Trattler ’88.
Margaret Jacobs completed a stint as a foundry artist at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center arts-industry residency from February to May. This past spring she began a research fellowship at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian in Washington, D.C.
Cher Zhao shares the joyful news of the birth of her daughter, Sophie Yue Nemitz, on May 30. Big sister Ellie (4 years old) and big brother Lukas (2 years old) are adjusting well. “Also, this winter I had a wonderful Dartmouth girls weekend trip with Lizzy Wild and Meeka Charles in Hudson, New York, celebrating 20 years of friendship since we met as freshmen hallmates on first-floor Bissell.”
Khadijah Enoh is finishing her first postgrad year in a psychiatry residency. She adds, “My oldest child (12 years old) is officially taller than me—and if no one’s ever told you, there is life after medical school!”
Of particular note: The class of 2008 recently launched a book club celebrating works by our talented classmates. For our second gathering, we read The Colony of Lost Souls, the latest novel by Kelsey (Blodgett) James. Kelsey graciously joined us for an engaging virtual discussion—many thanks to her for sharing insights into her writing and creative process!
Special shoutout to Lily McCartney, Elise Krieger, Zach Mayer, Stevie Belchak, and Nora Johnson for their virtual participation. Interested in joining the book club or hosting a future meeting? Reach out via our class of 2008 Instagram!
