Class Note 1975
Issue
November-December 2025
Class Note 1975. Apparently, the class has gone into hibernation after a very energetic reunion. Not much news of note, so I will attempt to fill out some of the holes and loose ends from reunion. Perhaps most notable was the dinner on the lawn in front of Baker Library. The setting was spectacular, and it was a gorgeous evening.
First, kudos to Scott Elliff, who provided the wine for Saturday night’s dinner from his own DuCard Vineyards in the foothills of the Shenandoah National Park. Scott is rightly very proud of the vineyard’s sustainability initiatives, but he laments that there is no wine pong involved.
Dinner for Eliza and me was a great trip down memory lane joined by our good friends Jeff Sassorossi and his wife, Bev. We spent a good deal of time together when we all lived in the Upper Valley. Today they live in Norfolk, Virginia, and are much closer to their children. Needless to say, there’s less snow shoveling involved.
We were joined by Rich Lane and Mary, who, like the Sassorossis and the Grays, were an item during undergraduate years. I remembered them as being quite hysterical (funny) in college. They did not disappoint at dinner, as I was laughing the night away.
Marty Kenner and Pam also were with us, and it was great to catch up as I had not spoken a word to Marty in 50 years. They are originally from South Dakota and currently live in Minnesota. Marty had a 35-plus-year career at 3M Co. Like many of us, they were making a bit of a road trip around reunion and would head back to northern climes in due course. I had forgotten that Marty was one of the “bigs” in Thayer Hall. Clearly, he had a more serious and responsible demeanor about him during undergraduate years than did I.
