Class Note 1961

November-December 2025
Class Note 1961. Once again, the class of 1961 has achieved the distinction of having the highest level of classmate participation for the Dartmouth College Fund (DCF) for the fiscal year ended June 30, having achieved a class participation of 70.4 percent. This exceeded our class goal of 70 percent, established a year in advance, and greatly exceeded the participation achieved by the College and all other classes. As a result, the class was once again the recipient of one of Dartmouth’s oldest and most prestigious DCF-related awards. This distinction could not have been achieved without the intensive efforts of several classmates—Harris McKee, Henry Eberhardt, Gerry Kaminsky, and Don O’Neill as well as numerous other classmates who assist them each year—who put in the time and effort each year to achieve these high-participation results annually. In addition, our relatively small class collected $287,110 for our class’s contribution to the DCF for the year ended June 30, which exceeded our pre-established goal of $201,961 for the fiscal year.
On October 10-12 Pete Bleyler, the producer and director of the class of ’61 mini-reunions for the past six years, conducted his first mini-reunion program for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, with a hybrid of on-campus meetings and offsite Zoom sessions. Harris McKee and Maynard Wheeler again assisted Pete with their technical and administrative talents, respectfully. Speaker panels of classmates and others connected directly or indirectly with Dartmouth composed the formal part of the program Friday afternoon. Also on the schedule was a class dinner Friday evening, a box lunch prior to the football game Saturday and a class dinner later that evening, and a brunch Sunday. All were successful.
Finally, congratulations to Henry Eberhardt, proposed and elected incoming president for the class of 1961 beginning July 1, 2026. Henry has been actively involved with the class since its inception.
