Class Note 2012

Issue

July-August 2023

Moose you already, team. What a great experience to be back in Hanover with you all! Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers for making the weekend happen, especially Tim Koeth and Chris Calby, but also Crishuana Williams, Aleschia Hyde, Ally Clark, Bianca Zlatea, Dana Brisbane, Faye Keegan, Jamila Ma, Ray Li, Shaun Akhtar, Amrita Sankar, and Alfonso Villegas. I’m certainly forgetting so many others but appreciate all of the time and effort leading up to and during our big celebration.

Michelle T. Domingue II writes in with a great update as he relocates to Houston: “After teaching high school math for seven years, I decided to finally take the leap and go to law school. In May 2022 I graduated with honors from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, and I began a clerkship with a federal judge in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana in June 2022. Earlier this month I found out I passed the Texas Bar Exam woohoo (or yeehaw?)! I do not recommend studying for the bar while working full-time, if possible, but it was one of those necessary evils, y’know? I’ll be relocating to Houston in September to officially begin practicing as an attorney. So if there are any Dartmouth alums out there who want to connect or give me great dining and entertainment recommendations, I’m open!”

Alfonso Villegas recently joined Gravel & Shea in its litigation group. Alfonso lives in South Burlington, Vermont, and was also a huge help planning reunions this year. Congrats!

Kayla Gebeck was named a 2023 Native American “40 Under 40” award recipient by the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development—along with PaaWee Rivera ’13 and many other outstanding young leaders. According to the center, this prestigious award recognizes leadership, initiative, dedication, and significant contributions in business and community. Kayla is a member of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians and is an associate at Holland & Knight in Washington, D.C.

Royce M. Egelou was selected to participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity’s 2023 class of “Pathfinders.” Per his firm Fox Rothschild, the council “is a growing organization of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and managing partners who are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession. More than 50 alumni of the program have become general counsel, managing partners, or judges or have opened their own firms.”
