Class Note 1991
Issue
September-October 2024
Hey, ’91s!
A couple of days before the first presidential debate, I received notification that I had a text from Jake Tapper. I was sure he was going to ask me to co-moderate (and I was ready to accept). Alas, Jake wasn’t calling with an invite, but was sending in a great update on our friend David Hillman.
David was recently hired as the first chief legal officer of Venu Sports, a new live streaming sports service, after more than a decade at Paramount Global and its predecessors. In his new role David oversees all legal matters at Venu, which was created earlier this year by the Walt Disney Co., Fox Corp., and Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. The company and the role sound super-exciting, David, let us know how it goes.
Congratulations are also in order for Tennis Channel commentator and Edward R. Murrow Award-winning sportscaster Brett Haber, who recently received a contract extension that will keep him on air through 2028. Haber, who first appeared on the Tennis Channel at the 2004 BNP Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington, D.C., has seen his role expand to become one of the network’s lead play-by-play announcers and studio hosts throughout the year. Way to represent, Habes!
That’s all I have this time, folks, please send in your updates!
