Class Note 1991

Issue

July-August 2024

Hello, ’91s!

I am opening this column with a big update from one of my favorite Chi guys. Daniel Bryant writes that “on February 24 on the beach at our home on Marco Island, Florida, in front of 180 family and friends who traveled in from all over the world, I married my best friend, Annie Sawyer. Annie and I first met more than 40 years ago on the North Shore of Chicago and dated throughout high school before reconnecting at a high school reunion 10 years ago. We had an amazing Dartmouth contingent of Greg Portland, Mike Rafferty, Bill Bassin, Tom Gladden, Hutch Stone, Josh Jewitt, Mark Koulogeorge, and Stephanie Mullins among the guests. It was a great reminder that there is nothing better than celebrating life’s biggest moments with our Dartmouth friends—those connections never fade!”

Congratulations, Daniel (my invite must have gotten lost in the mail), and enjoy your time as a newlywed. Congratulations are also in order for Stephen Herman, who recently joined the law firm Fishman Haygood’s litigation section as special counsel. Stephen’s broad civil practice spans 30 years and includes the representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial, class action and professional liability matters. Prior to joining Fishman Haygood, Stephen was a partner at Herman Herman Katz, a family-founded law firm started by his grandfather in 1942.

I also made a work change recently, having joined TransUnion in March as chief risk and compliance officer. The move means I will be in Chicago often and would love to connect with any classmates in the area. Chicago-based ’91s, please reach out.

If you have been thinking about sending in an update for the column, please do so. I’d especially love to hear about your passion projects and charity work. Until next time!
