Charles W. Maschal Jr. ’57

Charles W. Maschal Jr. ’57 passed away on November 24, 2014, in Gardnerville, Nevada. Charlie came to Dartmouth from Westport, Connecticut, in 1953. At Dartmouth he was an art major and was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Dragon senior society. He also served on the art staff of The Dart. Charlie had a long career in the health insurance and healthcare industries. Early in his career he was a claim manager for the Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. and served as administrator for the Columbia Medical Plan. Later in his career he became executive director of the Foundation for Medical Care of Santa Clara County, California. Charlie’s hobbies included painting, skiing, tennis, model airplanes and wind surfing. He was active in Dartmouth affairs as an Alumni Fund and admissions volunteer. Charlie leaves his wife, Roberta, and son Charles.
