Graduate students voted to unionize by a count of 261-33 this spring. “We are excited to bargain for a contract that secures better living and working conditions for all Dartmouth graduate workers,” read a press release from the Graduate Organized Laborers at Dartmouth.
Live Dead
Guitarist-vocalist Zach Nugent and his Dead Set band performed a song-for-song recreation of the Grateful Dead’s Thompson Arena concert from May 5, 1978. The show took place in May at the Lebanon Opera House in New Hampshire.

USA Lacrosse magazine featured two-sport star Jenna Donohue ’24 in a recent issue. Following her ice hockey season finale at Brown in February, the psych major took a day off before starting lacrosse practice.

Dartmouth students joined a suicide prevention walk in Hanover on May 7. The “Out of Darkness Walk” raised nearly $13,000.

Women’s head basketball coach Adrienne Shibles has stepped down after two years in the position, during which the team won only five of 54 games.

Goodbye Gift
Faculty, staff, and students celebrated the tenure of outgoing President Phil Hanlon ’77 at several events during spring term. A $32-million scholars program has been established in his name.
Wet and Wild
The Ski Patrol held its sixth annual pond skim at the Dartmouth Skiway and has some gnarly videos to show for it. The event benefits the Veterans Affairs Adaptive Sports Program.

English and creative writing professor Monika Otter died in May. She was 64.
