Milton M. Olander Jr. ’51, a resident of Bermuda Dunes, California, died on February 8. Milt was a history major at Dartmouth and a member of Phi Delta Theta. Following graduation he served for two years as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Artillery Corps. He went on to earn an M.B.A. from the University of Toledo. He spent 36 years as a commercial banker, retiring in 1993 as a senior vice president. In retirement Milt was active in the commercial real estate business and was a member of the board of directors of the F.B. Gardner Co. in Los Angeles. Through those years and several geographic moves, Milt was an active contributor to regional Dartmouth clubs. Milt believed strongly in giving back. He served as a deacon in his church. He also found pleasure in cooking, gardening, golf, tennis, and computers. Milt is survived by his wife, Cora (“Corky”), and four children.
