Jessie Wenonah Levine ’92
Jessie Wenonah Levine ’92 passed away on June 26, 2021, in New London, New Hampshire, from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Born in Hopkinton, New Hampshire, Jessie came to the College from Hopkinton High School and majored in English modified with education. She was active in student government, serving as ’92 vice president senior year. She also worked as a cross-country ski instructor and undergraduate advisor and was a member of Cobra. Jessie is remembered fondly for making genuine connections across the entire class; she was class secretary from 1992 to 1997. Jessie earned a master’s in public administration from the University of New Hampshire. In 2000 she became town administrator of New London; in 2015 the board of selectmen dedicated New London’s roundabout in Jessie’s name, an honor that touched her deeply. She also served as Hanover assistant town manager, Bedford town manager, and Sullivan County manager. Jessie was recognized as New Hampshire County Manager of the Year in 2016. Jessie enjoyed getting together with family and friends from all parts of her life and stayed particularly close with those from Dartmouth, as well as Hopkinton, New London, and Springfield, New Hampshire. She treasured road trips, ice cream runs, book clubs, trivia nights, movie nights, golfing, skiing, spa trips, home pedicures, hikes to Cole Pond, and a good IPA on someone’s deck. She loved peaches, the Boston Celtics, competing in 5-kilometer and trail runs, and snowshoeing in the woods behind her house, especially with her dog, Elle.
