Jay L. Laskey ’47 died June 6 in New York City. He was born September 24, 1926, in Lawrence, New York, where he attended high school. He was assigned to Dartmouth in the V-12 program and majored in history, worked on the Aegis and participated in track. He attended Tuck School for a year. After service as an ensign in the Navy Reserve he went on to obtain an M.A. in history from Columbia University. He joined the family business, Payroll Tax Services—which dealt with forms, charts and payroll books—where he rose to become secretary-treasurer. In 1991 he retired to Hewlett, New York, and then enjoyed multiple Elderhostel trips and travel to several continents. He was involved with a seniors program at Hofstra University. He is survived by two children and a nephew.
