Jay Glynn III ’84

Jay Glynn III ’84 passed away peacefully March 17 after a brief illness with his family at his side. Jay was born on May 18, 1962, in Salem, Massachusetts, and raised in nearby North Andover, where he attended public schools. He was a proud member of Phillips Academy Andover and Dartmouth, where Jay was involved with class council and a member of Alpha Theta/Theta Chi. He traveled to Lyon, France, for his language study abroad. Jay is survived by his parents, James and Jane; sister Tricia and her husband, Laszlo; sister Elaine and her husband, Edmond; brother Stephen and his wife, Deirdre; nephew Sean and nieces Reilly, Jilian, and Ellie and their families. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, and cousins whom he loved very much. He also leaves his French family, the famille de Linage of Lyon, France, which held a special place in his heart. Jay made countless friends in the United States and abroad. A successful career in finance brought him from New York City to Paris to London to Los Angeles. Jay will be remembered for his quick wit, wisdom, sense of adventure, love of travel, flawless French, love of a vigorous political debate, impeccable taste, unending kindness, and love of family, friends, and rescue dogs.
