Class Note 1965. I’m writing this column on June 13, the day before this year’s Dartmouth Commencement and 61 years to the day from our own graduation in Leverone Field House.
Class Note 1965. I asked our new class president, Stu Keiller, for his background. Stu came to Dartmouth on a Navy ROTC scholarship as the first in his family to attend college.

Peter Allan Dale ’65 died on March 31 in California. He came to Dartmouth from Cairo, Egypt, after spending his early years in Tehran, Iran, and Cairo as the son of an intelligence officer. An English major, Peter was in Army ROTC.
George Willis Fugate Jr. ’65 died on November 2, 2025, in San Francisco after several years of failing health. He came to Dartmouth from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Robert M. Cox Jr. ’65 died unexpectedly of cardiac arrest on December 28, 2025, while on vacation in Aspen, Colorado. Robb came to Dartmouth from McKeesport, Pennsylvania, via Mercersburg Academy.
Fred L. Offensend ’65 passed away in Portland, Oregon, October 17, 2025, from complications of advanced Parkinson’s and a cerebellar stroke. He came to Dartmouth from Rochester, New York.
