Although this column is being written during the most severe heat wave New Hampshire has seen in decades, our June reunion had balmy weather with a touch of showers. Attendees included 59 classmates and 44 guests, a strong turnout.

Bill Young represented our class at the NCAA skiing championships in March, hosted by Dartmouth at the Skiway and Oak Hill. He also carved a snowflake “D” statue at the Oak Hill venue.

Frank J. Hermes ’65 died January 21 in Williamsburg, Virginia. “Sandy” came to Dartmouth, his father’s alma mater, from New Canaan, Connecticut.

Heinz Kluetmeier ’65 died on January 14 of complications from Parkinson’s and a stroke. Born in Berlin, Germany, he came to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, when he was 9.

James A. Mechenbier ’65, M.D., died on February 10 in Columbus, Ohio, following an extended illness. He came to Dartmouth from Dayton, Ohio, and was a premed biology major, member of Theta Delta Chi, and played rugby.
