William Robert Burger ’54

William Robert Burger ’54 passed away on March 26, 2012, in California. Bill came to Dartmouth from Newark, New Jersey, where he attended Newark Academy. He was only at Dartmouth for a year before transferring to the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1954. He received a law degree from Seton Hall University. After serving in the U.S. Navy as a lieutenant, j.g., aboard the USS Naifeh, he successfully ran the New Jersey Glass Co., growing it into one of the largest plate glass installers in New Jersey. He also founded Service Insurance Co. of West Orange, New Jersey. Bill is survived by his wife, Dorene, and sons Mitchell, James and Glen.
