Ronald Eugene Williams ’52

Ronald Eugene Williams ’52 of West Chester, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on May 26 after a protracted illness. In 1948 Ron graduated from Plainfield (New Jersey) High School, where he excelled academically and in baseball, served as class president for two years and student council president in his senior year. At Dartmouth he graduated as an English major, then received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1954. Ron built a career in finance and banking in New York City at Kidder Peabody, Bache & Co. and the United States Trust Co. For several years Ron was also president of L’Aiglon, a women’s clothing manufacturer. He completed his professional career at Weiss, Peck and Greer, also in New York City, as a bond expert and portfolio manager. Ron and his first wife, Joan, lived for many years in Summit, New Jersey, and retired to Atlanta in 1993. Sadly, Joan passed away in 2000. The following year Ron moved to Hershey’s Mill in West Chester, where he met Joan Savoy. Ron and Joan were married in 2003 and enjoyed 13 years of marriage. Ron converted to Catholicism in his later years and became a devout Catholic. He is survived Joan Savoy and her family, as well as his children, Craig, David and Carol, and their spouses and 10 grandchildren.
