Norman Styles Fink ’47

Norman Styles Fink ’47 of Brevard, North Carolina, died in July 2014. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 13, 1926. He grew up in Flushing, New York, where he attended Brookline High School. In college he majored in philosophy and was active in the Glee Club, the Dartmouth Players, The Dartmouth and student government. He served in the Army and earned a law degree from Harvard in 1950. He served on the legal staff of Remington Rand Co. in New York City until 1969, when he became counsel for the development program for the University of Pennsylvania in Swarthmore. He was a member of the bar association of the State of New York and was appointed to a panel of arbitrators by the American Arbitration Association. He was the author of articles in the Michigan Law Review and the New York County Law Journal. He moved to North Carolina, where he served as attorney consultant to nonprofit organizations. He served on the class executive committee (1997-2014) and as treasurer (1972-78), reunion committee chairman, gift planning chairman (1991-97), Alumni Fund volunteer (1998-2014) and district enrollment director (1965-69). His hobbies were tennis, current events and Yankee whaling ships. He is survived by his wife and two children.
