Tracey L. Harden died on August 19 in a car accident. Tracey was born on July 7, 1957; grew up in McConnellsville, New York; and attended Camden High School. At Dartmouth she lived in Mass Hall and majored in history. After graduation Tracey moved to Manhattan, where she lived for 46 years, working as a reporter and editor at the New York Daily News and The New York Times. She married Mike Neill in 1987, and together they raised children Blair and Ross. At the time of the accident, Tracey and Mike had just moved to their new home in the Delaware beach area. Tracey remained true to her McConnellsville and Dartmouth roots, reconnecting with lifelong friends last June at her 50th high school reunion and her 45th college reunion. Classmates remember Tracey as generous with a kind-hearted soul, wry sense of humor, sarcastic wit, and adventurous spirit (including skiing down the Mass Hall stairs). She cherished her pug dogs. She recently won first place in a “Pug Picnic” contest, dressing up her pooch as Khaleesi from Game of Thrones. Tracey never complained; any problem or challenge, big or small, was met with the same cheerful outlook and determination to fix it. She was an amazing and devoted mother to Blair and Ross, who survive her with husband Mike and brother Gregory.
