David Michael DeSimone died on July 12, 2024. He lived in Castle Rock, Colorado. Mike was born on February 3, 1957, and grew up near Philadelphia. At Dartmouth he majored in chemistry and joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon. His brothers remember his intelligence, kindness, and love of adventure. Mike was a big guy with ’70s-curls, outrageous hats, and city-kid swagger. He was a magnetic presence with a wry smile, raw IQ to burn, and great empathy for others. Mike attended UPenn Dental School, graduating in 1983. He spent more than 30 years as a dentist in Pennsylvania and Colorado, where many knew him as “Dr. D.” In 2016 he refocused his career on nonnarcotic pain relief and founded Castle Rock CryoCare. Mike was deeply cherished by his patients and created many lifelong relationships. From supporting local elementary schools to donating his services to single mothers, Mike had a huge impact on his community. He loved nothing more than to be with his family, spending many days with them at Rockies and Avalanche games. Mike cherished his time as a Boy Scout leader and loved to cook red sauce and tortellini for the family. He was happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren and all will remember his love, passion, and generous spirit. Mike is survived by his wife, Tammy; children Amanda, Thomas, David II, and Joseph; and granddaughters Elliana, Alliyah, and Madelynn.
