Class Note 1999

Issue

September-October 2025

Hello, ’99s!

It’s hard to believe another summer has raced by. I hope you made the most of it and that autumn is off to a good start.

Don Philibert, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University in New York City, wrote about a recent visit to Jamaica. Don provided women’s health services through the Jamaica Awareness Association of California, which supports people living in underserved areas of Jamaica.

Sean Taylor also shared an update. When Stephen Jackett’s office organized a corporate improv workshop in New York City, it led him to reconnect with Sean at the Magnet Theater, which Sean owns and operates. Beyond keeping the theater running through the challenges of the pandemic, Sean has been developing a one-man storytelling show titled Life of Pie, which blends humorous tales from his upbringing in a Mormon military family with highlights from his long-running pizza blog (31daysofpizza.com), now in its 24th year.

His remaining spare time is spent on Fortnite with the likes of Nathaniel Rink and Matthew Wrobel as well as his nieces and nephew. Erik Tanouye, who caught up with Sean at a performance of Life of Pie, recently returned to N.Y.C. after performing and teaching improv abroad at festivals in Berlin and Edinburgh.

That’s all the news for now. I hope you enjoy the autumn and I look forward to sharing further news with you soon!
