Class Note 2005
September-October 2025
Hi, class of 2005. A few updates below!
Adam Schein is moving with his wife and toddler from the Upper Valley to Boston, where he will serve as a psychiatrist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an instructor at Harvard Medical School.
Kedar Deshpande wrote in to say that he had a great time at the Dartmouth Club of the Midwest annual meeting in April. He also recently announced his candidacy for the Minneapolis Park and Recreation board. The Minneapolis park system is consistently ranked the best in the country, and its elected commissioners and autonomy are a large reason why. Read more about his campaign at kedarforparks.org.
Gretchen Gehrke was featured in The New York Times on March 21 in “Government Science Data May Soon Be Hidden. They’re Racing to Copy It.” Gretchen is an environmental scientist who helped found the Environmental Data & Governance Initiative (EDGI) in 2017. Based in Durham, North Carolina, she has emerged as a key figure in the campaign to rescue and preserve government-held environmental and climate data threatened with deletion. Gretchen says, “We’re not prepared for having resilient public information in the digital age and we need to be.”
Finally, Kate Lyon Bustard crossed paths with Whitney McKnight, Teddy Finnerty, and Becca Scully at Whaleback Mountain in Enfield, New Hampshire, last winter. Kate’s son, Teddy, was learning to ski on the magic carpet, while Whitney’s, Teddy’s, and Becca’s kids were at a ski racing meet with the Sunapee ski team.
