Kenneth W. Tyson ’57

Kenneth W. Tyson ’57 passed away on November 19, 2022. Ken graduated from Scarsdale (New York) High School. An economics major, he was in Alpha Delta Phi, a diver on the swim team, and a member of the Outing Club and Winter Carnival Committee. Despite a difference in temperament, Ken was extremely close to his identical twin, Bob ’57. He grew a signature mustache so people could tell them apart. Ken joined the National Guard and lived in New York City working in banking while attending business school at New York University. He later shifted direction and attended the University of California College of Law in San Francisco, graduating in 1965. Returning east, he clerked for Connecticut attorney Catherine Roraback, then practiced law in northwestern Connecticut for many years as a member of the Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York bar associations. An avid reader, Ken was known as quiet and reserved. When he spoke, it was substantial and to the point. While living in Connecticut, Ken was a member of the Litchfield Artillery Co., a Civil War reenactment regiment. He moved to New Jersey, volunteered with the High Bridge ambulance squad, and coached youth soccer in Lebanon, New Jersey. Ken participated in Dartmouth alumni clubs as job development and career advisor. For 35 years he was a friend of Bill W. Ken is survived by Regina, his wife of 43 years, and children Brendan, Josh, and Laura ’85 and their families. Brother Bob predeceased him.
