Marshal L. Wilcox Jr. ’45

Marshal L. Wilcox Jr. ’45, who worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for more than 25 years, most prominently as treasurer, died March 26. “Bud” worked for the port authority from 1961 to 1987 and was its treasurer for six years. His career at the port authority included the construction of the World Trade Center, for which he helped arrange financing through short-term debt so that, in theory, it would have been paid for at the time of completion, according to his wife, Joan. While there he developed a talent for timing the markets, said his wife. He was born in New York City, and for the past 25 years had lived in Sewall’s Point, Florida. He served in the U.S. Navy, attended Dartmouth and received a master’s in business from Rutgers University. He served as a Martin County commissioner in Florida for eight years. He is survived by his wife as well as daughters Marsha Ann, Susan, Lydia and Nancy; brother Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and grandson Charles.
