Lawrence John Steuber ’47

Lawrence John Steuber ’47 died April 22, 2011, in Alexandria, Virginia. He grew up in Richmond Hill in New York and attended Franklin Lane High School in Brooklyn. He joined the class in the Marine V-12 unit and went on to graduate from Tuck School. He served in Korea and retired from the Marine Corps as a captain. He earned a degree in banking from the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University. He rose to become the assistant vice president of Morgan Guarantee Trust Co. in New York. In retirement he and his wife enjoyed several months a year in Cancun, Mexico, where their son is a newspaper editor. He maintained a residence in Alexandria, where he served on a public school board, as town president, as president and treasurer of the local senior citizen center, and served on other civic associations. He is survived by his wife and son.
