Lawrence Andrew Wilson ’52

Lawrence Andrew Wilson ’52 passed away November 3, 2014, in Evanston, Illinois. Larry was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio, area and prepared for college at Shaw High School in East Cleveland. He graduated from Dartmouth with a degree in medicine in 1952. At Dartmouth he was a member of Alpha Kappa Kappa medical fraternity, Dartmouth Outing Club and varsity crew. He then received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. He was an anesthesiologist at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago for 29 years. He served in the U.S. Navy on active duty as physician to the Marines and in the Navy Reserves thereafter. In retirement he pursued gardening, especially his roses, and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains and other National Parks, though his passion was for biking. He especially enjoyed all outdoor activity. He is survived by his wife, Ellen; children Thomas (and wife Susan), James (and wife Deion), Anne ’ 92 (and husband Robert) and Robert (and wife Donna); and grandchildren Andrew, Michael, Caroline, Bobby, Iris, Wade and Calvin. He was predeceased by sister Janice.
