Kennon D. Heusinkveld ’52
Kennon D. Heusinkveld ’52 passed away in Jacksonville, Florida, on April 19. Ken was born in Cincinnati on August 13, 1930. He came to Dartmouth in 1948 after graduating from Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati. At Dartmouth Ken graduated with distinction as a Tuck business administration major in the 3-2 program. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta and active with the Dartmouth Outing Club, Canoe Club, Bait & Bullet and Mountaineering Club. He also was a member of freshman crew and received a letter as crew manager. Ken spent his career in financial management positions (he was a certified public accountant), first with Price Waterhouse in New York City and then with International Nickel, Automatic Canteen and the news divisions of NBC and CBS. In 1965 he joined the Singer Co. and served in financial management for nine years in New York, California and New Mexico. In the mid-1970s Ken moved to become vice president of finance for a company in Massachusetts and then to retirement in Florida in 1986. Ken and his wife, Dasa “Dee,” married in the mid-1950s and enjoyed traveling together, especially after retirement. They shared a love of the out-of-doors and camping. Dee passed away in 2005. Ken’s daughters Catherine, Heather, Holly and Patricia, their spouses, nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren survive him. Ken’s brother, David ’49, DMS’49, predeceased him.
