Joseph Vincent Pluto ’55

Joseph Vincent Pluto ’55 died on September 24, 2009, in Lady Lake, Florida. He graduated from Coal Town High School in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, where he was a three-sport athlete and was subsequently inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. At Dartmouth he participated in football, track and baseball as he was working toward a degree in engineering. Joe did not return after his sophomore year because of finances. After two years in the Army he received a degree and spent 20 years with the Penn-Central Railroad and 20 years in management of railroad and mass transit construction. He is survived by Rosemary Jean, his wife, two sons, two daughters and 11 grandchildren.
