John W. Cramer Jr. ’57

John W. Cramer Jr. ’57 passed away in Naples, Florida, on January 15, 2015. Jack and his wife, Liz, moved to Naples recently, after maintaining a home on Cape Cod for 30 years. Jack came to Dartmouth from the Nichols School in Buffalo, New York. At Dartmouth he was a member of Delta Tau Delta and NROTC. He was also active in the College radio station, WDBS, and as head manager of the rowing club for four years. He received his master’s in business administration from Tuck School in 1960. After a two-year stint in the U.S. Navy, Jack had a long career as president of his family’s business—a wholesale distributor of industrial supplies in Tonawanda, New York. He was president of the National Industrial Supply Association. He was also involved in civic affairs and was especially passionate about his work as chairman of the United Way of Tonawanda. He was a founder of the Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod. Jack was very active in Dartmouth affairs, including local club activities, the Dartmouth College Fund and class reunion committees. Jack leaves Liz and daughters Jennifer ’88 and Martha.
