John G. McIlwraith ’49

John G. McIlwraith ’49 died on May 12, 2009, in Carmel, Indiana. “L.J.” came to Dartmouth from Culver Military Academy. At Dartmouth he was a member of Green Key, Dartmouth Players, WDCR and Theta Chi. After graduation he served in the Army, and then spent 30 years in marketing with Dow Chemical. He was a thespian, a tennis linesman and an active volunteer at the Indianapolis Zoo, Children’s Museum and SCORE. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Michael Ann (Mike), daughter Joanne, sons John and Allen and seven grandchildren.
