John Francis McKeon ’48

John Francis McKeon ’48 died on February 24, 2010 at Lake Forest, Illinois. He entered Dartmouth in the Navy V-12 program in 1943, saw active duty elsewhere, and returned to campus to complete his undergraduate and M.C.S. from Tuck. He was active in hockey and golf and a member of Phi Delta Theta. He was a Rufus Choate Scholar and Phi Beta Kappa. From campus he joined General Electric in the heavy equipment division for 17 years before moving on to Westinghouse Air Brake for another six years. He completed his working career as president of the link belt machinery division of FMC Corp. Jack’s work took him all over the world. He was active for the College and associated schools in capital campaigns. He is survived by Kathy, his wife of 57 years, and children Nancy, Paula, David, Tu’84, Thomas and Susan.
