John Dickinson May ’54

John Dickinson May ’54 passed away on May 9, 2014, at the Albany (New York) Medical Center. Dick came to Dartmouth from Menlo Park, California, where he attended Palo Alto High School. At Dartmouth he was a brother of Tau Epsilon Phi and a government major. He was editorial chairman of The Dartmouth and undergraduate editor of the alumni magazine. Dick obtained his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, and taught political science at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, from 1972 to 1992. In 1998 he returned to the United States, settling in Catskill, New York, where he became involved in local affairs, writing the Seeing Green blog regularly from 2004 through 2013. He is survived by his wife, Lisa, and sons Jason, Collin and Peter.
