James Philip Donohue ’55

James Philip Donohue ’55 passed away on November 5, 2014. A resident of Clinton, Massachusetts, Jimmy came to Dartmouth from Clinton High School. After graduation he entered Boston University Law School, where he received an LL.B. in 1959 and started a law practice in criminal law. He served on the Massachusetts Superior Court in Boston, having been nominated by Gov. Edward King in 1979. Prior to this he had served as an assistant district attorney for Worcester County. After serving 24 years as an associate justice he retired to do community, church and bar association volunteer work. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth, two sons, two daughters and seven grandchildren.
