James Hilton Luce ’47

James Hilton Luce ’47 of Ashtabula, Ohio, died on December 28, 2011. He grew up and attended schools in Ashtabula before entering college in the V-12 unit. He majored in philosophy and served in the Navy after the Korean War. He earned a music degree from the New England Conservatory and went on to teach music for 45 years at the Cleveland (Ohio) Music School Settlement. He also taught at public schools in the northeast Ohio and at Baldwin Wallace College. He played cello in the Euclid (Ohio) Orchestra, taught guitar privately and sang with the Forest City Singers. He served as a class agent from 1963 to 1968. He is survived by several cousins.
