Herbert Du Pont Syle III ’54

Herbert Du Pont Syle III ’54 passed away on May 14. Hap came to Dartmouth from Haddonfield (New Jersey) Memorial High School. At Dartmouth he majored in architecture and was a brother of Sigma Nu. After graduation he served four years in the Marine Corps, flying jets. From 1963 to 1970 he served as vice president at the Link division of Singer Co. and then became a general agent for Mass Mutual Insurance Co. from 1974 to 1982. Thereafter he worked in sales for Montrose Tractor. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, sons Herbert IV and Thomas and daughter Elizabeth.
