Harry C. Padgett III ’57

Harry C. Padgett III ’57 passed away on January 27, 2012. He grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, and graduated from the Peddie School before entering Dartmouth as a member of the class of 1956. At Dartmouth Harry was a member of Zeta Psi and an economics major. Injuries suffered in an automobile accident in his senior year prevented him from graduating with the class of 1956. He graduated in June of 1957 and from Tuck in 1958. After Dartmouth Harry worked in his family’s woven label business in New Jersey for a number of years followed by a brief stint with Merrill Lynch in New York City. He went on to a career in automotive sales and leasing in New Jersey and later in Florida. Harry was in ill health in recent years, living with a sister in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and finally with a niece in Roswell, Georgia, at the time of his death. Harry will be best remembered by his Dartmouth classmates for his quick wit, ready laugh and rollicking sense of humor.
