Harold Salmanowitz ’44

Harold Salmanowitz ’44 died March 11, 2015, in Naples, Florida. Harold grew up in Manhattan and Scarsdale, New York, and Geneva, Switzerland. He spent two years at Dartmouth and then served as a pilot in WW II, receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross for rescuing his tail gunner after their B-29 received a direct hit during a bombing run over Kyushu, Japan. He joined the Superintendence Co., founded by his father, and became its president in 1968. He moved to Florida in 1992, traveled the world with wife Betty and was a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
