H. Richard Isaacson ’64

H. Richard Isaacson ’64 of Brooklyn, New York, died on February 13, 2010, of pancreatic cancer. He came to Dartmouth from East High School in Denver, where he participated in student government, dance band, debating, captained the ski team and attended Boys’ State. He continued his enthusiasm for skiing at Dartmouth, where he was both a jumper and racer. He was also on the Interdormitory Council and a member of the DOC. He majored in mathematics and economics and graduated from Tuck with an M.B.A. in 1965. Since graduation Rick volunteered for Dartmouth on numerous assignments, including the Campaign for Dartmouth leadership committee, special gifts volunteer, class agent, member of the class executive committee and leadership agent. Shortly after graduating from Tuck Rick joined International Management Group (IMG), where he helped the company grow to become a global leader in sports marketing. During his 40-year tenure at IMG Rick mentored hundreds of younger professionals and inspired colleagues around the world with his generous spirit, integrity and humor. In spite of his dedication to IMG, Rick held his family as his top priority. He and Phyllis and their sons Andrew and Daniel ’95 spent many vacations at Mohonk Mountain Preserve, where Rick was a volunteer. For more information, click here.
