Gregor A. Campbell ’64

Gregor A. Campbell ’64 passed away on the day after Christmas 2014 in his adopted state of Colorado, where he was an avid outdoorsman. Greg came to Dartmouth from Rocky River High School in Cleveland and majored in economics, which served him throughout his working life. At Dartmouth he was a four-year participant in crew, and member of the Outing Club and Army ROTC and a brother in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, where he is remembered fondly. In 1967 he earned an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University. He spent eight years providing financial services, databases and software products for Standard and Poor’s Corp. He started his own consulting firm in 1994 and then a highly automated, startup market research firm in 2002 while teaching at Westwood College in Denver. He served for many years in leadership roles in Dartmouth regional clubs. Greg was a volunteer with Friends of Red Rocks (FORR) in Denver, a nonprofit citizens organization where he served as chief operating officer and chair of its open space committee. FORR served as an architectural and preservation advisor to Denver during the $25-million restoration of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. Greg enjoyed hiking and fly-fishing with his son, Scott. His favorite summit was Mount Sneffles, where his family dispersed his cremains. He is survived by Scott, sister Patricia, daughters Christa and Laura and grandchildren Kathryn, Sullivan and Maxwell.
