George Eugene Houze ’47

George Eugene Houze ’47, M.D. of Leesburg, Florida, died in Prescott Valley, Arizona, on June 3, 2015. He was born on August 28, 1926, in Westport, Connecticut, where he attended high school. He was a chemistry-zoology major but chose to work in the insurance industry in accident and health fields for several years. He earned an M.D. from Queens University of Kingston, Ontario, in 1965 and moved to Arizona to complete an internship and residence in obstetrics and gynecology. He practiced in Alabama, Arizona, Florida and Louisiana before retiring in 1993 to move to Leesburg. In Arizona he was a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Maricopa County Medical Society. He is survived by four children and his wife.
