Frank Louis Porta ’47

Frank Louis Porta ’47 of Elkview, West Virginia, died July 27, 2009, in Charleston, West Virginia, where he grew up and attended high school. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was selected for Officer Training School as a first lieutenant. He attended Bucknell as well as Dartmouth. He was employed in the electrical engineering department of Union Carbide, where he retired as senior electrical apparatus buyer in 1968. He moved to State Electrical Supply, and in 1972 formed a family-owned firm, HPS, dealing with mining supplies. He is survived by his wife and four children.
