Eric James Moore ’55
Eric James Moore ’55 died in Vista, California, on July 21, 2014. He came to Dartmouth from New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois. Eric left before graduating and became a Navy fighter pilot. After service he became an environmental horticulturist, working for several nurseries in the San Diego area and starting his own in the 1980s. For 20 years he served as a project consultant in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon. In 1986 he worked on a five-man team in a fact-finding tour of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Eric is the author of Gardening in the Middle East, published in 1986. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Elks and Lions clubs and served as president of the California Association of Nurserymen. He is survived by his wife, Deanne, three children and seven grandchildren.
