Douglas R. Trottier ’57

Douglas R. Trottier ’57 passed away in Portland, Maine, on January 15. He grew up in Lyme, New Hampshire, and came to Dartmouth from Hanover High School in 1953. At Dartmouth Doug majored in English and belonged to the Christian Union, the Dartmouth Outing Club and the Ledyard Canoe Club. In 1961 he earned his bachelor’s of divinity from Andover Newton Theological School. Doug had a long career as a Congregational minister in churches in Greenfield, New Hampshire; Laconia, New Hampshire; Springfield, Massachusetts; West Paris, Maine; and Portland. Doug’s special interests were computers, amateur radio, motorcycles, camping, hiking, science fiction, carpentry, masonry and flying his own airplane. In later years he self-published a supernatural novel titled The Crow and His Body. Doug leaves his wife, Beth, two children, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
