Dennis J. Sanidas Jr. ’57

Dennis J. Sanidas Jr. ’57 passed away on April 22 in Stuart, Florida. He grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and after graduating from New Bedford High School, entered Dartmouth in the fall of 1953. At Dartmouth he majored in zoology and belonged to Kappa Kappa Kappa, Rowing Club, Yacht Club and the debate team. He went on to graduate from Boston University Medical School in 1961. After an internship at Beverly (Massachusetts) Hospital Dennis did his residency in radiology while serving in the U.S. Army at the Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Denver. In 1968 Dennis and his family settled in Falmouth, Massachusetts, on Cape Cod. He was a founder of Bay Radiology Associates and served as a radiologist at Falmouth Hospital and Tobey Hospital in Wareham, Massachusetts. He also served on the board of directors of Falmouth Bank and Trust Co. An avid fisherman, Dennis spent as much of his time on the water as possible, most often with all or part of his family in tow. He is survived by children Brett and Amy and three grandchildren. His wife of 46 years, Sylvia (“Nickie”), passed away in 2005.
