David D. Kirkpatrick Jr. ’45

David D. Kirkpatrick Jr. ’45, M.D., of Meadville, Pennsylvania, died April 21 at his residence following a period of failing health. He was born May 20, 1923, in Meadville and graduated from nearby Saegertown High School. He graduated from Dartmouth and went on to earn his degree from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1950 and as a ship’s physician from 1953 to 1954. He retired from private practice in 1993 and helped establish the Meadville Area Free Clinic. He served as medical director there until 2008. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice, whom he married December 29, 1949, and four children.
