David Austin Schirmer ’43

David Austin Schirmer ’43 died April 8, 2010 at his home in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. After schools in Bronxville, New York, Dave graduated from Kimball Union Academy, where he was on the football team and a member of the staff of the school newspaper. At Dartmouth Dave majored in economics. He was manager of the freshman hockey team and a member of Theta Delta Chi. After graduation Dave served in the Army, reaching the rank of first lieutenant. Dave is survived by Reggie, son David Jr. and four grandchildren. Daughter Katherine, the mother of one of the grandchildren, predeceased him.
