Clifton Edward Hayes ’54

Clifton Edward Hayes ’54 passed away on September 26, 2013, at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, New Hampshire. He resided in Pelham, New Hampshire. Clif came to Dartmouth from Cushing Academy in Ashburnham, New Hampshire. He was a brother of Alpha Theta and majored in architecture. After graduation he joined the U.S. Coast Guard, spending four years on active duty and then many years in the reserves, retiring as a commander. After leaving the service he was employed by Horton and Hubbard in Nashua and then formed Hayco Corp., where he designed, built and distributed specialty cabinets. He was a former selectman of Pelham. Clif is survived by his wife, Gladys, and children Susan, Jessica and Christopher ’84.
